About the Brush Wielders Union

The Brush Wielders Union is a community of like-minded miniatures gamers dedicated to playing their games fully painted and supporting one another in their craft.

There's nothing more rewarding in miniatures gaming than fully painted armies and dungeons filled with painted monsters, but anyone who's even dabbled in the hobby knows it requires hard work and dedication. Getting even a small skirmish warband painted to a tabletop standard is a serious endeavor. Work, family, and other obligations, no matter how rewarding, take up valuable time and make it all too easy to lose steam on a project. The Brush Wielders Union is here to help you stay on track with tools, a monthly podcast, and a whole community of fellow painters to encourage you in your journey.

Anyone who paints their miniatures is welcome to join the Union! You don't have to be a world-class painter (most of us aren't!), you just have to be willing to put in the work to paint your figures.

All Union members receive access to a private Discord server. At the heart of our community, it is where we share our trials and triumphs and encourage our Union comrades in our craft. Union members will also receive invitations to General Assembly meet-ups in the real world, and early access to the monthly Brush Wielders Union podcast, interviewing professional miniatures painters and other hobby luminaries!

Full Union Members will receive a professionally printed Union Membership Book and an adhesive-backed patch bearing the Brush Wielders Union logo. Each month you will receive a Dues Stamp to place on the corresponding calendar page of your Record Book, recording your dedication to the Union Pledge. Each calendar page will also have space for you to record your painting accomplishments that month, as well as additional pages to note goals, paint recipes, and techniques. You’ll receive a new Union Membership Book each January as long as you’re a Full Union Member.

The Brush Wielders Union is a passion project created by Union General President, Simon Berman. Simon has been a wargamer since 1993 and has worked in the tabletop games industry for over fifteen years. He was formerly a staff writer and social marketing manager at Privateer Press where he contributed to WARMACHINE, HORDES, and the Iron Kingdoms Full Metal Fantasy Roleplaying Game. These days he's a freelancer who has contributed to a number of roleplaying games like Eclipse Phase, Dune: Adventures in the Imperium, and Unhallowed Metropolis, runs his own publishing company, Strix Publishing, and paints more miniatures than he can keep track of. He lives with his partner in Tacoma, Washington along with a number of cats and a pack of wiener dogs.
